The key to achieving our mission of providing the highest standard of hospice care at Hill House rests with our staff, volunteers, families, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
The professional nursing staff and supportive PSW's provide 24-hour care, all guided and mentored by our Medical Director, Dr. Berger. All members of the nursing team are specially trained in pain control and symptom management. In addition to providing direct care, this dedicated team also provides emotional support to family members.
We are guided and led by our Board of Directors, providing inspiring leadership, guidance and oversight.
In-home and virtual volunteers are an invaluable resource, providing both direct and indirect care. Whether it's administration, housekeeping, or assisting patients, we couldn't do it without you. Volunteers are pre-screened before being accepted to Hill House and are required to complete the Core Concepts of Palliative Care course.
Our caring Complementary Therapists visit weekly to provide our residents and their families with aromatherapy, massage therapy, Reiki, as well as music therapy.
Our Medical Director Dr. Berger was awarded the Ontario Medical Association's Award of Excellence, a well-deserved award from the OMA for his palliative care work. Everyone at Hill House Hospice has benefited from his empathy, compassion and strong skill set. We’re so thankful for his dedication to improving care for our residents, families and community.

Amanda is a registered nurse with close to 15 years of experience primarily based in the community setting of Richmond Hill. Through her extensive practice as a home visiting nurse, Amanda realized her love and skill for palliative care and joined the Hill House team in 2021 to pursue this passion full-time. When not working or volunteering, Amanda can be found relaxing with her husband at their home in Georgina, working on cross-stitch projects, and enjoying time spent at her family’s cottage exploring trails with her beloved dog Winnie.
